FAQ’s

Q.  Who is this work for and who is it not for?

A.  This work is for people age 15 and up who are motivated to live more intentionally, willing to actively engage in their own growth, and ready to level up. It’s especially well-suited to those navigating life transitions, seeking clarity, or wanting support to pursue meaningful goals. This work may not be a good fit for individuals looking for quick fixes or clinical treatment for acute mental health concerns. But please feel free to book a free 30-minute video conference to decide for yourself.

Q.  Are your services covered by health insurance benefits?

A.  No. My services are offered as mentoring and coaching, not clinical therapy, and are not covered by extended health or insurance plans. Many clients nonetheless choose this kind of work for its flexibility, continuity, and focus on personal development rather than diagnosis or treatment.

Q.  Do you offer in-person sessions or only online?

A.  I currently only offer sessions online. However, from time to time in-person sessions may be possible by mutual agreement, depending on the suitability of what we’re working on, location and availability.

Q.  Do you diagnose or treat mental health conditions?

A.  No, I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. I am trained to recognize signs that additional or specialized support may be needed, and I can help you find appropriate diagnostic or clinical care if that’s what would best support you. But this doesn’t mean we can’t work together if you have a supplementary support system in place.

Q.  Why aren’t you a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor anymore?

A.  I allowed my registration to lapse in 2025 to explore different ways of working, earning, and being of service to the clients I’m best equipped to support. Mentoring allows me to work more flexibly and relationally, it’s the work I most enjoy and feel aligned with.

Q.  What if I was a previous client? What if I am a personal friend or acquaintance of yours?

A.  Previous clients are perfectly welcome to try out any of my short-term Chapters work or my ongoing Mentoring programs, provided we both feel the fit is appropriate. While I was not permitted to work with personal friends in a counselling role, mentoring operates differently. That said, we’ll still need to have a clear conversation about boundaries, expectations, and whether working together makes sense before moving forward.
